Tehran, 3 October 2022 (TDI): The Foreign Ministry Spokesman of Iran, Nasser Kanaani, highlighted the Israeli regime’s genocide which has martyred 2,230 Palestinian children following the International Day of Solidarity with the people of Palestine.
The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is observed by the United Nations on or around 29 November each year, under the General Assembly mandates contained in UN resolutions.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Nasser Kanaani, in his statement highlighted the Israeli Genocide on the Palestinian people, especially children.
According to the statistics, the Zionist regime has martyred 2,230 Palestinian children and arrested 19,000 children and teenagers under the age of 18 since the beginning of the second Al-Aqsa intifada.
Moreover, “since 2020 between 500 and 700 Palestinian children have been tried in the Zionist regime’s courts far from any justice,” he mentioned.
International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People
The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is observed by the United Nations on or around 29 November each year in accordance with the UN resolutions 32/40 B of 2 December 1977, and 34/65 D of 12 December 1979, and subsequent resolutions adopted under the agenda item Question of Palestine.
The date of 29 November was chosen because of its meaning and significance to the Palestinian people. On that day in 1947, the General Assembly adopted resolution 181 (II), which came to be known as the Partition Resolution.
The Partition resolution provided for the establishment in Palestine of a “Jewish State” and an “Arab State”, with Jerusalem as a corpus separatum under a special international regime.
The International Day of Solidarity traditionally provides an opportunity for the international community to focus on the question of Palestine and the fact that they are still deprived of the basic rights enshrined in the UN General Assembly Resolution.

He added that “through the European coordinator and some mediators, including foreign ministers of neighboring countries, messages are being exchanged to reach the agreement as before.”
In addition to that, Bilateral and multilateral talks were held on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The intermediaries of Iran and the United States also exchanged messages.
He also noted that Iran is determined to reach a good, strong, and stable agreement and adhere to the process of negotiations.
In his statement, he noted, “Iran’s response to the final text by the European negotiator has already been given, and Iran’s effort was to give a clear answer that would help the conclusion and the formation of an agreement and prevent interpretations that could disrupt the agreement.”
He also reidentified the demands of Iran regarding the country’s frozen assets.
“The issue of releasing Iran’s frozen assets in some countries, including South Korea, has always been one of Iran’s demands, and we have always pursued it through diplomatic methods and in the form of political, economic, banking, and commercial negotiations,” he noted.
Moreover, he added that countries that believe in friendly relations and international laws and regulations are obliged to release Iran’s financial assets and not make the release of these resources conditional on any other event, outside of bilateral relations.
Remarks on War in Yemen
The Iranian Spokesperson, Nasser Kanaani, also highlighted the War in Yemen.
Commenting on the ceasefire in Yemen, he said that Iran’s positions in this regard have been expressed clearly and formally. He said that “The war in Yemen was an unnecessary war.”
“The ceasefire is not considered as an inherent issue and should be a prelude to help resolve the political crisis in Yemen and the formation of stable and stable conditions in this country,” he stated.
In addition, “The Islamic Republic of Iran supports the renewal of the ceasefire and encourages friends and related parties in Yemen to follow this path,” Nasser Kanaani said.
