California (TDI): After a sneak peek at the WWDC 2024 event, Apple started the worldwide rollout of iOS 18 on September 16.
The iPhone 16 series was just released, so consumers have had a chance to test out a number of the updated features.
A set of AI features called Apple Intelligence, which is one of the most anticipated innovations, won’t be available right now.
October is when users will be able to use these AI features through the new upgrade.
All of Apple Intelligence’s features will reportedly be released gradually by the end of 2024, with a phased rollout planned.

Update iOS 18.1 (October)
As iOS 18.1 enters developer beta testing, a number of AI-powered advances are anticipated, such as:

- call recording and transcription
- AI-powered movie production in the Photos app

Although significant changes to its AI capabilities aren’t planned until later, Siri will also get some improvements.
Update iOS 18.2 (December)
Analyst Mark Gurman expects that the AI features “Genmoji” and “Image Playground” will be included in this release.

These WWDC-showcasing tools make use of Apple’s AI picture generating capabilities.
With the help of artificial intelligence (AI), Image Playground is a stand-alone software that can be operated with voice commands from Siri.
Genmoji uses AI to let users design unique or creative emojis.
Update iOS 18.3 (2025)
The iOS 18.3 update, which is probably going to be a modest release concentrating on bug repairs and small enhancements, is not expected to bring any significant AI capabilities as of yet.
Update iOS 18.4 (March 2025)
It is predicted that the iOS 18.4 upgrade would bring about notable improvements to Siri’s AI capabilities, such as:
- Awareness of one’s own context.
- Improved in-app controls
- Screen awareness
