Moscow (TDI): The Open International Biology Olympiad (OIBO) 2025 will take place from May 10 to 17, 2025, bringing together young Biology enthusiasts from around the world including Pakistan, India, the United Kingdom, European countries and others
Hosted in the Sirius Federal Territory, the Olympiad aims to advance biological and biotechnological education and foster global collaboration among students and educators.
The Olympiad is open to students aged 14-18, who will participate in teams of two to six members. Each team can be accompanied by a team leader and up to two observers.
The event will also feature theoretical and practical assessments to test individual knowledge and laboratory skills.

A team project round will also take place to judge participants’ ability in solving real-world biological challenges.
The Olympiad will follow a multilingual format and tasks will be available in Russian, English, and other national languages of participants, subject to translation by the national jury.
The Olympiad is expected to provide a multicultural professional experience including lectures, workshops, and guided tours; and a unique opportunity to interact with experts and explore Russia’s science culture.
The Sirius Federal Territory will provide accommodation and meals for all participating teams.

The organizers have issued all details related to travel and registration. Recommended arrival and departure dates are May 10 and May 17, 2025, respectively.
The Sirius Federal Territory is known for its world-class educational and research facilities. OIBO 2025 is set to gather the brightest minds in Biology to compete, collaborate, and contribute to scientific progress.
Established on 22 December 2020, the Sirius Federal Territory is located along the Black Sea coast in Krasnodar Krai. It also includes the areas developed for the 2014 Winter Olympics, including the Sochi Olympic Park and Sochi Autodrom.
