Beijing (TDI): As part of improving official contacts between China and India, Beijing has said that it is looking forward to Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri’s upcoming visit to China.
The Indian Foreign Secretary will be in China to attend the China-India vice-foreign minister/foreign secretary level dialogue, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said at a daily media conference in Beijing on Friday.
Misri will visit Beijing from Sunday to Monday.
A key step in improving China-India relations was the October meeting between President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Kazan, Russia on the margins of the annual BRICS summit, observers noted.
Mao stated that the two leaders “reached a crucial consensus on enhancing China-India ties,” and emphasized that Beijing and New Delhi have actively worked to implement this agreement.
The foreign ministers and defense ministers of both sides have also recently met separately in multilateral settings.
