New Delhi, 1 December 2022 (TDI): India has assumed the presidency of the G20 today on the 1 of December 2022. The G20 is an organization comprising 19 of the world’s developing economies, as well as the European Union (EU).
These countries meet every year to discuss pressing issues facing the world. The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi assumed the office of the Presidency to look over the affairs of the bloc.
He said in his addressing speech that ” India’s G20 Presidency will work to promote the universal sense of oneness. Hence our theme, One Earth, One family, One future.”
Also, he acknowledged the previous administration for their good work in promoting economic, socio-cultural, and tax relief for member countries and has promised to continue in that direction.

Furthermore, he made strong emphasis on the need to promote harmony as that will be one of his priorities. He said, “Our priorities will focus on healing our one earth, creating harmony within our one family, and giving hope for our one future.”
Talking about promoting harmony, he talked about the need to ensure that everyone has a fair share of the resources needed for development and also provide humanitarian support to needy countries.
To ensure that the future generation is safe, he added that, they will continue to use diplomatic means to settle conflict-related issues on the globe.
In addition to the above, the need to protect the planet was another major concern raised in his addressing speech. For healing the planet, India will seek to promote sustainable and environmentally friendly lifestyles.
The climate-related violence and injustice have been major issues always raised at the table and we will seek to deal with them fervently.
Adding to the fact that India’s G20 agenda will be inclusive, ambitious, action-oriented, and decisive. Working to ensure that the right decisions are made, and actions are properly taken to promote development.
In his closing remarks, he talked about the fact that they should all join together to make India’s G20 Presidency a Presidency of healing, harmony, and hope.
