Amman, 16 September 2021 (TDI): The Ambassador of Norway to Jordan visited the International Labour Organization (ILO) office in Amman. Espen Lindbaeck met with ILO Gender Specialist Reem M.Aslan Farida Khan in ILO office. They talked about social protection, gender equality, and child labor.
Norway is the member state of ILO and contributed around $12.6 million from 2017 to 2020. Norway supports ILO in Tanzania, Jordan, Egypt, Colombia, Lebanon by funding.
Norway’s foreign policy is designated to promote human rights, democratization, and good governance. The government of Norway’s priority is to provide humanitarian assistance, education, vaccination, and human rights.
Espen Lindbaek stated that “ILO is playing an important role in preventing child labor, and promoting social performance, gender equality in Jordan.” He also said that ILO is a good partner and they are looking forward to better cooperation.
