Rabat, 8 May 2023 (TDI): Islamic World, Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization launched Youth and Women’s Leadership training program (ICESCO) to contribute to establishing peace. The initiative by ICESCO started in 2021 and has trained 80 Ambassadors of the Organization for Peace.
The Organization aims to train 500 more Ambassadors by 2025 and attaches great importance to the leadership role of youth and women in society.

In 2021 ICESCO launched the initiative under the theme “Women and Youth Agents of peace”. A celebration took place the same year. The programme was part of ICESCO’s celebration of the “Year of Women 2021” under the patronage of King Mohammed VI. Multiple important figures addressed the meeting.
In 2022 the International Workshop on Youth and Women’s Leadership program took place with the collaboration of the Moroccan Ministry of Youth. It was focused on innovative ideas and practical proposals to contribute to the success of youth peace projects.
The discussion among International experts and heads of ICESCO related to preventing violent extremism was part of the sessions. Cross-cultural communication was stressed during the workshop.
The Foreign Minister of Mali Abdoulaye Diop and Emir of Kano State Nigeria Muhamad Sanoussi II, the workshop. Minister of Youth and Sports Gambia Bakery Y. Badjie addressed the workshop.
