Abu Dhabi, 2 October 2021 (TDI): High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of EU Commission Josep Borrell Fontelles met Deputy Prime Minister (PM) and Interior Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Saif Bin Zayed.
Both leaders called for cooperation in tackling extremism and urged the need to fight radicalization.
Josep stressed the EU-UAE partnership to consolidate and join hands in stabilizing the region. Moreover, adding that the bilateral ties must be fortified.

EU and UAE have been teaming up, in hindsight, to bolster the role of UAE in the international arena as well as ascending the value of UAE in the region.
Both sides share common political and regional interests. Furthermore, UAE being the lucrative international business hub has lured innumerable investors from Europe making the economic ties tangible.
