Pakistan, 6 August 2024(TDI): A high-level Chinese delegation, led by Mr. Wang Fuqiang, Representative of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, visited Gwadar, Pakistan, to discuss future investment opportunities, development programs, and ongoing projects such as the New Gwadar International Airport and the Pak-China Friendship Hospital.

The delegation also visited the South Free Zone and Gwadar Port, highlighting their significance for future trade and economic activities. During a meeting with Gwadar Port Authority officials, the delegation discussed the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Phase 2 projects.

Balochistan’s Finance Minister, Zahoor Buledi, welcomed the participants. Gwadar Port Authority Chairman, Naseer Khan Kashani, emphasized the importance of CPEC for Gwadar Port’s success. Chairman China Overseas Port Holding Company (COPHC), Mr. Yu Bo, shared proposals for strengthening trade.

Mr. Yu Bo stated, “China and Pakistan are eternal friends, with an ironclad history of friendship. Industrial cooperation is crucial at this time. China’s cooperation on large projects will bring economic revolution to the region, providing employment and business opportunities for the people of Balochistan.”

The delegation appreciated the security measures for Chinese employees working on various projects and expressed satisfaction. The visit will play a significant role in enhancing Pakistan’s capacity to address future challenges.

Despite attempts to disrupt high-level visits, the unshakeable resolve of Pakistan and China has foiled the opposing agenda. The 26-member delegation included representatives from the Chinese Embassy, Yang Guangyuan and Chen Jinqi, as well as Pakistani officials, Avis Manzoor Sumer, Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Zulfiqar Ali Shalwani, and Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Syed Zafar Ali Shah.
