Haneef Atmar spoke with the Indian FM

Kabul – 4 August 2021 (TDI): Haneef Atmar, the Foreign Minister of Afghanistan had a telephonic conversation with S. Jaishankar, the Foreign Minister of India on Tuesday evening, 3 August 2021.

Haneef Atmar informed the Indian Foreign Minister about the rampant violence and the day-to-day deteriorating security situation in Afghanistan. He also briefed Jaishankar that the Afghan Taliban have consolidated by integrating other terrorists from the region. He urged International Community to play a greater role in fostering peace and prosperity in the country with the help of International Institutions.

India held the rotating presidency of the United Nations Security Council for the month of August on Monday; T S Tirumurti, India’s Permanent Representative to UN, is the current President of UNSC. Haneef spoke to Indian Minister to request an Emergency UN Security Council Session under the presidency of India to discuss the mercurial situation of Afghanistan and intimidate the International Community about Human Rights Violations in the country.
