Newly appointed councilor general of China in Lahore Zhao Shiren with Governor of Punjab Baligh ur Rehman

Lahore, June 2022, (TDI): The newly appointed Consul-General of China in Lahore Zhao Shiren met the Governor of Punjab Baligh ur Rehman at the Governor’s house.

The Governor of Punjab Baligh ur Rehman congratulated the Consul-General on his appointment.

He expressed his best wishes to Zhao Shiren and hoped that his stay in Pakistan would further strengthen the relations between Pakistan and China.

They discussed bilateral relations

The governor mentioned that China had stood by the side of Pakistan in difficult times, and there is no match for the long-standing Pak-China friendship.

They also discussed the significance of CPEC for both nations. They also discussed how the working can be improved on the ongoing projects under the CPEC.

The Governor of Punjab Baligh ur Rehman mentioned that the project would prove to be a game-changer for Pakistan. It would open new economic opportunities for both Pakistan and China.

He said that Pakistan understands the importance of corporation with China in energy, health, education, infrastructure, and other development sectors.

He also expressed that there must be a charter of the economy for the smooth continuation of economic policies.

He also expressed that people-to-people relations and cultural exchanges are important for strengthening the relations of both states.

Consul-General Zha Shiren also highlighted the importance of CPEC for both states. He hoped that the government of Pakistan would try its best to complete and secure the projects that are being built under the CPEC.

He also mentioned that Pakistan is like his second home and he is looking forward to his time in Pakistan.
