Isiolo, 16 September 2021 (TDI): The incumbent Governor of Isiolo County, Mohammed Abdi Kuti, hosted the current High Commissioner of the United Kingdom, Jane Marriott, for hearing Kenyan voices on the current drought in Kenya.
Following the deadly drought that is affecting as much as 2.1 million lives across Kenya, the High Commissioner decided to personally visit the highly affected areas to resolve the water crises in the region and to avoid the drought becoming fatal and hazardous.
The drought that is shooting up in various regions of Kenya was also declared as the National Disaster by Uhuru Kenyatta, the President of Kenya.
Thanking the efforts of the UK in Kenya, the Governor of Isiolo County expected efforts from the United Kingdom to evade the drought as soon as possible. Adding to it, Mohammed Abdi Kuti also expressed concern about the changing climate and its impact on the livelihood of the Kenyan people.
Lastly, the Governor expected the first-hand visit of Jane Marriott would augment fathomless benefits for the people of Kenya.
