Islamabad (TDI): The 10th edition of the Islamabad Literature Festival (ILF) starts from today (Nov 8 to 10th) at Gandhara Citizen’s Club in Fatima Jinnah Park with participation of prominent global authors, poets, intellectuals and scholars.
Organized by Oxford University Press (OUP) Pakistan in collaboration with Getz Pharma, the ILF will celebrate 10 years of literary excellence with the theme, ‘Sustainability: Words Change Mindsets’.

The annual festival of literature, arts and intellectual exchange promises a dynamic array of voices, ideas and perspectives, creating an enriching experience for literature enthusiasts, writers, scholars, and the general public.
The event will be divided into 55 sessions and 15 book launches will be held. Besides debates ,discussions, workshops and cultural activities are also scheduled.
Distinguished authors, poets, and intellectuals from across the world, will participate in panel discussions on literature, history, current affairs and socio-political issues.
As scheduled the inaugural keynote address will be delivered by British High Commissioner Jane Marriott.
Renowned poet Zehra Nigah, former Pakistan representative to the UN Maleeha Lodhi, Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb, Special Secretary of the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani would participate.
There would also be Minister of School Education for Punjab Rana Sikandar Hayat, Urdu poet Iftikhar Arif and eminent scholar Najeeba Arif address the event.
Prominent participants include Hamid Mir, Nasim Zehra, Faisal Bari, Kishwar Naheed, Anwar Masood, Alamgir Hashmi, Baela Raza Jamil, Andrew Coombe, Muneeza Shamsie and many others.

The festival will also feature a book fair, cultural performances, including music and dance, and other forms of artistic expression to showcase Pakistan’s vibrant art scene.
