Islamabad, 21 December 2022 (TDI): The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is working for an effective energy management system in Pakistan.

For this purpose, GIZ has collaborated with the Center of Intelligent systems and Network Research (CISNR) in Peshawar.

Both are aimed to improve partner communities’ ability to monitor & change their energy efficiency measures in real-time. Further aims also include More efficient energy management, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and more energy savings.

In addition to this, at the launch event, CISNR displayed how energy monitoring equipment has been digitalized. There were attendees from the Capital Development Authority and  Peshawar Development Authority.

GIZ Pakistan and CISNR

Since 1957, Pakistan and Germany have collaborated on sustainable development projects. Since 1990, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) has operated in Pakistan, where it operates a country office in the nation’s capital, Islamabad.

Moreover, there are currently 330 domestic workers, 35 foreign workers, and 1 integrated specialist employed in the nation.

The activities of GIZ are directed at the following priority areas of sustainable economic development, good governance, and energy. It works on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

To help them fulfill the needs of the labor market, GIZ supports thousands of apprentices and institutions of technical education.

It helps the organizations in charge of running the social security and health insurance systems provide social safety for a sizable population.

Furthermore, GIZ is also assisting the Pakistani government in the textile industry. It is working to ensure respect for labor and environmental standards.

CISNR seeks to offer society smart solutions and achieve a balance in managing safety, economic growth, and the environment. It works through precise data collection and technology.

In addition to this, its key goal is targeting product-oriented research aimed toward Safe City. Current projects of CISNR include Smart Grid and an intelligent transportation System.
