German foreign minister meets Kyrgyz counterpart

Berlin, 24 August 2023 (TDI): Germany and Kyrgyzstan have affirmed their commitment to fostering a genuine and transparent partnership with Central Asia, marked by fairness and a shared vision, as outlined in a joint declaration.

The collaborative efforts between the two nations have reached new heights with this declaration, which signifies a step forward in bilateral relations, as highlighted in the discussion between Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and her Kyrgyz counterpart, FM Kulubaev.

Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, in collaboration with her Kyrgyz counterpart FM Kulubaev, have set forth a comprehensive plan to elevate cooperation between Germany and Kyrgyzstan to a higher echelon.

Their vision encompasses a range of domains, including climate and energy initiatives, cultural exchanges, and business endeavors.

An overarching priority for the partnership is tackling climate change and advancing energy solutions.

The two nations plan to embark on joint climate protection projects, with a focus on sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Cultural enrichment also stands at the forefront of this partnership. The declaration outlines the establishment of a Franco-German cultural institute, showcasing the dedication of both nations to fostering artistic, educational, and intercultural exchanges.

Furthermore, the declaration underscores Germany’s commitment to Kyrgyzstan’s educational landscape, with plans to establish a presence through a German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) office in Bishkek.
