Karachi (TDI): Dr. Rüdiger Lotz, German Consul General in Karachi, concluded his tenure with a visit to a gurdwara and a local church, thereby reflecting his emphasis on interfaith harmony and community engagement. This gesture signifies a remarkable era of cooperation and goodwill between Pakistan and Germany.
In his final days in office, Dr. Lotz met with Christian and Sikh leaders, emphasizing the importance of religious tolerance and respect for each other.
Dr. Lotz has been working to strengthen Pakistan-Germany relations since 2021. During his time, he has been promoting outreach, cultural activities, and support for bilateral activities in trade, education, and development.

He promoted the German language with Goethe-Institut. To advance clean energy and environmental awareness, he launched Pakistan–Germany Climate and Energy Initiative and started “Make Karachi Green” campaign.
During his tenure, there was close collaboration on climate resilience and sustainability. As part of Germany’s €60 million aid commitment, Dr. Lotz visited affected areas, managed the delivery of water filtration systems, and assisted in humanitarian relief efforts in Sindh after the floods.
The Consul General of Germany in Karachi plays an important role in representing German interests. The office works to strengthen economic relations, promote cultural and educational exchanges, and provide consular services to Germans and visa applicants.

Germany and Pakistan have shared diplomatic relations for more than 70 years with cooperation in various areas including development, education, climate change, and trade.
