Paris, 29 July 2022 (TDI): French President Emmanuel Macron met with the Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed Bin Salman in Paris. The meeting at Elysee Palace was attended by delegations from both sides.

The Saudi Crown Prince came to Paris following his visit to Greece. Both sides held an extensive meeting in the presence of delegations from France and Saudi Arabia.
Upon arrival at the Elysee Palace, President Emmanuel Macron received the Saudi Crown Prince. Macron greeted Mohammad Bin Salman with a warm handshake.

Delegations
In the meeting, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Minister of Energy; Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports were present.
Further, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture were also among the attendees.
From the French side Minister of Economy, Finance, Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, Bruno Le Maire; the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Catherine Colonna; the Minister for Energy Transition, Agnès Pannier-Runacher attended the meeting.
Muhammad Bin Salman was also received by the Ministers of the French government and a number of senior officials. Saudi press agency reported. The French President also held a dinner banquet in honor of the Saudi Crown Prince.
Crown Prince thanked Macron
Upon departing from Paris, Mohammad bin Salman sent a thanks cable to Emmanuel Macron. In the cable, the Saudi Prince thanked the French President for his warm reception.
“As I leave your friendly country, it gives me great pleasure to express to Your Excellency my deepest gratitude and appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality accorded to me and the accompanying delegation” he thanked Macron.

Bilateral Relations
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and the French Republic established diplomatic relations in1962. Today Saudi Arabia is an important ally of France in the Middle East. Furthermore, both countries have strong economic and military cooperation.
In addition, France has an Embassy in Riyadh and a Consulate in Jeddah. Likewise, Saudi Arabia has an Embassy in Paris. Also, both countries are members of the G-20.
