ISLAMABAD (TDI): France has assured Pakistan’s financial support in converting small vehicles from regular fuel to electric vehicles, from its clean energy resources. This might save Pakistan billions of dollars fuel in future.
This was agreed in a meeting of Federal Minster of Energy (Water and Power) with French Ambassador Nicolas Galey who called on the minister in his office. He sought this support from green energy funds allocated by French government for the help of other nations.
The minister told the envoy that Pakistan has introduced the EVs policy and pushing quickly to enforce it thoroughly across country.
He said that this EVs conversion policy could support saving of $ 6 billion import of fuel.
The ambassador congratulated the minister on successful completion of talks with IPPs for renewal of their agreement with lower tariff.

Pakistan has also introduced the free market of electricity and additional electricity would be sold in the market with new mechanism. Independent board of DISCOs are also helping reduction of the line losses of the power producers.
Pakistan is also working on bringing the solar-revolution to save energy for people at home and for the nation as well, commented the minister.
All the reforms are being introduced in a transparent manner. By such reforms good amount of investment is also expected in the energy sector of Pakistan, hoped the minister.

Pakistan is also implementing the renewable and green investment projects.
French envoy said that his government supports all such kind of projects and plans designed by the government of Pakistan. He also assured to support Pakistan in EVs policy and its implementation.
Both sides also agreed to improve the working and functioning of the power sector projects.
