Paris, 15 June 2023 (TDI): The French Development Agency showed its commitment to promoting sustainable energy solutions in Pakistan by signing a 180M€ finance deal with the Pakistan National Transmission and Dispatching Company.

The purpose of this agreement was to finance transmission lines and grid station projects and further foster the country’s green energy network.

This long-term investment is part of France’s ongoing efforts to support Pakistan’s long-term development goals. This agreement represents a step forward in fostering bilateral relations between the two countries.

 

It is part of the help offered by France at the post-flood conference in Geneva, where the international community joined hands to counter the impact of the terrible flood.

The funds that were provided by AFD will be used to improve and develop the transmission lines and grid stations throughout Pakistan.

These critical infrastructure projects will be important for encouraging renewable energy resources. and ensure the power supply throughout the country.

The financing agreement shows AFD’s and NTDC’s strong partnership. It highlights France and Pakistan’s mutual cooperation in the field of sustainable development.

It expresses France’s appreciation for Pakistan’s efforts to move toward a green economy and underscores their joint commitments to tackle climate change.
