France, Hungary gift 770,000 vaccine doses to Vietnam

Hanoi, 13 August 2021 (TDI): On August 12, on behalf of Vietnam, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son expressed his appreciation to French and Hungarian friends for donating Astra Zeneca with a total of 770,000 vaccine doses to Vietnam.

Emmanuel Macron urged a statement on his Twitter that access to the vaccine must be global and equitable to mitigate the Covid-19 pandemic. Following its action as part of the Covax solidarity program.

Earlier on August 11, Hungary donated 100,000 AstraZeneca vaccine doses and 100,000 sets of test kits, while France with 670,000vaccine doses. According to the French Embassy in Viet Nam, the said donations are expected to arrive in Viet Nam in late August or early September.
