Islamabad, 13 March 2022 (TDI): The Islamic Republic of Pakistan is preparing for the forthcoming OIC CFM meeting scheduled to be held in Pakistan on March 22-23.

In this regard, a meeting was held in the federal capital Islamabad today. The Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi chaired the mentioned meeting.

The topic of the meeting remained the arrangements regarding the OIC CFM meeting. According to official sources, it is being said that the arrangements have been finalized.

Since the meeting was attended by heads of the multiple committees of the Foreign Ministry, all of them one by one gave a briefing. The briefing was detailed and was about the preparations that have been done for the CFM meeting.

Not only that but multiple other prominent Foreign Ministry officials graced the meeting with their presence. Among these officials were the Foreign Secretary Sohail Mehmood, Special Foreign Secretary Raza Bashir Tarar, the Foreign Office Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar, etc.

Hosting OIC CFM meeting: an honor for Pakistan

The Foreign Minister of Pakistan Shah Mahmood Qureshi addressed the attendees of the meeting. While doing so he stated that hosting the 48th session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) meeting is indeed a great honor for Pakistan.

He referred back to the successful Extraordinary Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers. This referred Extraordinary Session was also held in Pakistan in the month of December in the year 2021.

“Humanitarian Situation in Afghanistan” was the primary topic for that Extraordinary Session. At the conclusion of the 2021’s session, various positive outcomes were reached. In a nutshell that session was indeed a fruitful one.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi further expressed his satisfaction over the fact that Pakistan is gaining good global attention when it comes to diplomacy. Pakistan is surely on the right track to diplomatically handling affairs.

Lastly, he stressed that sincere efforts must be put in to make sure that the meeting is conducted in the best possible and efficient manner.
