Abu Dhabi/Islamabad, 3 September 2022 (TDI): Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, spoke with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Foreign Minister of United Arab Emirates (UAE), on Friday.

The Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates assured his Pakistani counterpart of the UAE’s full support for Pakistan in the recent crisis of flooding.
According to the statement released by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MOFAIC), “During the conversation, Sheikh Abdullah affirmed the UAE’s solidarity with Pakistan in facing the repercussions of floods and torrential rains witnessed by several Pakistani provinces.”
Moreover, the Foreign Minister of UAE expressed his sincere condolences to the victims and his wishes for a speedy recovery of all the injured.
In addition, he underscored the strong UAE-Pakistan relations, and extended prayers to preserve Pakistan and its people, and perpetuate their stability, and prosperity.
Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, on his part, expressed gratitude to the UAE leadership for providing humanitarian assistance to the flood affectees.
UAE’s flood relief efforts in Pakistan
The UAE has provided $50 million in relief help to flood victims in Pakistan. Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan’s Prime Minister, also spoke via phone with Mohamed Bin Zayed, President of the United Arab Emirates, two days ago.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the United Arab Emirates for delivering the first batch of humanitarian help to flood victims in Pakistan.

The UAE Embassy in Pakistan verified that the first batch of food supplies has arrived in Karachi. According to the embassy, the delivery includes food, medicine and health supplies, and tents for flood victims.

Moreover, the UAE Embassy in Islamabad handed over a supply of tents and blankets to the National Disaster Management Authority of Pakistan, on Friday. It also affirmed that the United Arab Emirates is providing continuous flood relief aid.
