Tehran, 26 August 2021 (TDI): Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi landed in the Iranian Capital Tehran to discuss Afghanistan situation with the officials. He was received by his Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amir Abdollahian at the Foreign Office in Tehran.
Earlier, Foreign Minister had visited Tajikistan after Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan as he was on a 3-day visit to Afghanistan’s neighboring countries to discuss the prevailing situation in Afghanistan.
Foreign Minister Qureshi extended his best wishes for his Iranian counterpart for assuming office. Two leaders had a detailed discussion on Afghanistan’s current situations and regional peace, security, and stability. They agreed on an approach of coordination for an all-inclusive political setup in Afghanistan.
Foreign Minister Qureshi said that the greater economic integration, progress, and connectivity were linked with the peace in Afghanistan. He also invited his counterpart to visit Pakistan to further strengthen the relations between Tehran and Islamabad.
