Foreign Minister Pakistan met Romanian counterpart

New York City, 25 September 2021 (TDI): Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, met Romanian Foreign Minister, Bodgan Aurescu. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The two Foreign Ministers exchange views on bilateral relations and cooperation ties between Romania and Pakistan. Qureshi stated, if both countries remain committed on Pakistan-Romania Business Council and Joint Economic Commission, then this can promote trade-economic development.

Both Foreign Ministers also reviewed their bilateral relations, regional cooperation and enhancing economic agenda.

Shah Mahmood briefed his Romanian counterpart on Pakistan’s role in making efforts for peace and stability in Afghanistan. He further stressed that international community must engage in Afghanistan issue to prevent humanitarian and economic crises in the country.

Foreign Minister of Pakistan presented a copy of dossier to his Romanian Foreign Minister about violations of human rights in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Bodgan Aurescu, Romanian Foreign Minister thanked and appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in evacuating Romanian citizens and officials from Afghanistan.
