Tashkent, 30 August 2022 (TDI): The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Vladimir Norov, held a meeting with the Chairman of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Norbert Lammert.

Purpose of meeting
The current state and prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Foundation in various areas were discussed during the meeting between the Foreign Minister and the Chairman of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
The Chairman of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Norbert Lammert, noted that the organization supports the large-scale reforms and transformations implemented in Uzbekistan in all spheres of society.
Norbert Lammert also discussed the successful outcomes of the negotiations in the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan’s Senate and Legislative Chamber.
The necessity of enhancing close coordination between the Foundation and the Uzbek parliament and political parties was stressed during the meeting.
The events that would improve relations between Uzbekistan and Germany were also proposed in the meeting and considered.
The Chairman of the Foundation also expressed his desire for further exchange of information, especially by continuing the custom of visiting and exchanging experiences.
Implementing joint projects in the economic, environmental, scientific, and research fields, improving legislative activity, human rights, and gender equality were the topics of discussion.
The enhancement of the competencies of state department employees and non-governmental organizations was also discussed during the meeting.
Both sides showed keen and mutual interest in establishing cooperation in training journalists and organizing the participation of representatives of the Uzbek media in the Foundation’s programs like “Support for Young Journalists” and “Training Professional Journalists.”
