Madrid, 30 September 2021 (TDI): Bogdan Aurescu, the Romanian Foreign Minister visited Spain and met with Jose Manuel Albares, the Spanish minister for foreign affairs.
The agenda of their discussion was the agenda of the European Union concerning the Spanish presidency of the EU in 2023. The discussion also included the Conference on the Future of Europe.
Both sides agreed to support the active role of the European Union in the region. The Romanian foreign minister assured his Spanish counterpart of his support for the success of the 2022 summit of NATO in Spain.
The two countries enjoy 140 years-long diplomatic relations. In the meeting, they also discussed strengthening their bilateral relations by enhancing economic cooperation. Likewise, they also agreed on extending their cultural relations which can help them to strengthen their relations.
