Islamabad, 13 October 2022 (TDI): The Minister of Foreign Affairs for Pakistan, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari separately met the British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Christian Turner, & the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Nong Rong, in Islamabad on Wednesday.

Meeting with the British High Commissioner

The Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Bilawal Bhutto, and the British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Christian Turner, discussed UK support to Pakistan on the recent devastating floods. Bilawal appreciated British support for flood-affected people in Pakistan.

Both parties also discussed bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to further deepening of cooperation between the two countries. They also exchanged views on important regional issues during the meeting.

Meeting with the Chinese Ambassador

The Minister of Foreign Affairs for Pakistan and the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Nong Rong, also met on Wednesday. They discussed various aspects of the Pakistan-China strategic partnership.

The Foreign Minister and the Chinese Ambassador also reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Moreover, both parties exchanged views on important regional issues.

Both sides also agreed to continue close high-level exchanges, and carry forward and develop the unbreakable all-weather friendship between the two countries.

Both parties also reviewed the progress in bilateral relations and discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Pakistan and China are committed to deepening strategic communication at the highest political level and practical cooperation.

China-Pakistan Bilateral Relations

The two countries established diplomatic relations on 21 May 1951. The bilateral relationship is built on the strength of its successive achievements.

It has become formidable with each passing day and year and the leadership of both countries is committed to taking this relationship forward.

The bilateral relationship between Pakistan and China is based on feelings of mutual trust, respect, and goodwill toward each other.
