Tbilisi, 26 December 2022 (TDI): The Foreign Minister of Maldives, Ahmed Khaleel has concluded his official visit to Georgia after meeting the Georgian officials for political consultation.

Ahmed Khaleel visited the Maldives as part of his official duty as the country’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs and during the visit, he met with the Foreign Minister of Georgia, Alexander Kvitashvili.

During the consultation, both parties reviewed the existing relationship between the two countries. They talked about the need to strengthen these relationships and place many emphasis on certain key areas.

They also talked about further enhancement of cooperation, especially in the areas of trade, tourism, health, education, environment, and climate change.

Looking at the ways they could come together as countries to promote their trade and investment. Both countries have consistently persuaded the area of trade for so long and seek to enlarge their revenue generations.

Also in the area of tourism, health, and education, they explored many ways to boost these sectors of the economy as the are major areas of growth for every nation.

The partnership deals and support from each other will help solve all the challenges facing these areas of the economy.

To fight climate change and follow the UN agenda in overcoming climate justice. Both parties looked at the many ways to help people on the front line helping with the fight and further engaged on the many ways out.

During the visit, Ahmed Khaleel also met with the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Genadi Arveladze, and explored ways to boost trade between the two countries.
