Kyiv, 1 September 2022 (TDI): Minister for Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Jeppe Kofod met with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, in Kyiv.
Jeppe Kofod tweeted that, “Happy to be back in beautiful Kyiv to underline Denmark’s unwavering support to the Ukrainian people.”

Remarks by the President of Ukraine
Volodymyr Zelenskyy praised and stressed the renewal of the work of the Danish Embassy in Kyiv. He said, “It is important that the cooperation between our countries is really dynamic and fruitful.”
The Ukrainian President stressed that Ukraine needs maximum defense assistance from the world. He also mentioned, “I know that Denmark has already done a lot in this matter and continues to do so.”
He further emphasized that Ukraine values Denmark’s proactive stance on EU sanctions on Russia and looks forward to Copenhagen continuing its proactive role in applying pressure through sanctions.
The President also noted that the Denmark government had sent construction equipment to help to restore the liberation of Ukrainian cities. Further, Volodymyr Zelenskyy also hoped that Denmark would support Ukraine’s path to EU membership.
