Kabul: July 26, 2021- (TDI): In Kabul, Mohammad Haneef Atmar, the Foreign Minister of Afghanistan, had a farewell meeting with Gabriel Ferrán Carrión, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain.
Atmar commended the Spanish government for its help over the past two decades in a variety of areas that includes rehabilitation and security. He also thanked the Spanish government for strengthening and sustaining ties with Afghanistan. Moreover, he appreciated Carrión’s efforts during the mission.
Carrión also expressed gratitude to the State Department for its support to the Embassy throughout his time there. He stressed the need to focus on Afghanistan.
He said that it was even more necessary now, given the instability that has plagued the country for the past two decades.
Since their bilateral relations began in 1957, Spain has been a staunch supporter of Afghanistan. This meeting assured that Afghanistan and Spain’s relations would strengthen more in the near future.
