Dakar, 6 September 2021(TDI): Forum of China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) 2021 launches entitled to the theme of promoting African products online with a reach across the world through China-Africa Forum. The FOCAC session has invited representatives and diplomats from all FOCAC member countries which include Angola, Cameroon, Burundi, Burkina Faso, Botswana, Benin, Algeria, Sierra Leone, and several others along with Chinese stakeholders and technocrats.
Chinese Director-General of the Department of African Affairs of the Foreign Ministry, Wu Peng was cordially invited to launch the event. This event is primarily aimed at primarily promoting investment cooperation between Africa and China. It also plans to increase the reach of African products to the rest of the world which was barely possible before.
Debt relief terms between China and African countries will also be negotiated. The agricultural sector will be focused on as one of the vital agendas to increase food security in the continent.
Representatives of all African member states are heading up for this event and expect it to become a massive success for African growth and prosperity. So far, the Chinese-Africa trade deficit remains $20 billion annually and the debt is still under negotiations.
