FM Pakistan says regional peace is only possible with stable Afghanistan

Multan, 9 August 2021 (TDI): Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi while addressing a ceremony in Multan emphasized that peace and stability in Afghanistan are necessary for the region.

Pakistan has always been saying for a long time that a military solution is not feasible for the Afghanistan conflict. Instead, Pakistan supported a politically negotiated agreement among Afghan leaderships to bring about peace in the conflicted-ridden territory. He said that some factors are pushing the region toward instability and we need to remain highly alert on the elements who want to destabilize peace in the region.

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister also emphasized the urgency to make more efforts for tackling the rising Islamophobia. He said that for our society there is no serious threat except terrorism. He further added that to stop the scourge of terrorism, Pakistan made a highly comprehensive National Action Plan (NAP).
