FM of Afghanistan meets US Chargé d’Affaires to Afghanistan

Kabul, 10 August 2021 (TDI): On Tuesday, Mohammad Haneef Atmar, Foreign Minister of Afghanistan, had a meeting with Ross Wilson, Chargé d’Affaires of the United States to Afghanistan. Both parties address the security developments as well as the peace process in Afghanistan.

The Afghan Foreign Minister stated that the US should provide active support and collaborate with Afghanistan. He urged the UN Human Rights Council to send a fact-finding mission to Afghanistan to examine human rights breaches and war crimes so that perpetrators could face trial. He also emphasized the necessity of dialogues in establishing long-term peace and stability in Afghanistan.

Ross Wilson expressed concern over human rights violations in Afghanistan. He reaffirmed the Afghan Foreign Minister of the United States’ commitment to long-term peace in Afghanistan.
