Ishaq Dar meets with Pakistani diaspora in New York

New York (TDI): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar engaged with the Pakistani diaspora when he visited New York.

During this visit, he mentioned the vision and purpose of his visit, highlighting Pakistan’s participation in the United Nations Security Council, along with other commitments and engagements. He also shared his briefing to Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ambassadors on Pakistan’s key priorities at the United Nations.

The top members of the Pakistan Embassy in the United States were also present in this crucial meeting, including Ambassador Munir Akram, the Permanent Representative to the United Nations; Ambassador Asim Iftikhar, the Additional Permanent Representative; Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh; and Consul General in New York, Aamer Ahmed Atozai.

Moreover, he also focused on Pakistan’s progress in recent years in combating terrorism, strengthening economic stability, and bolstering a secure and business-friendly environment. The Foreign Minister also briefed the Pakistani audience about the country’s economic stability, such as the increase in remittances, exports, and overall economic progress.

In addition, he mentioned the new economic initiative, Pakistan Single Window; it is a digital platform aimed at streamlining trade and investment and promoting regional economic integration. He also mentioned the contributions of the Special Investment and Facilitation Council (SIFC) to promoting and securing the country’s investment.

In such a scenario, he mentioned the significance of the Pakistani diaspora in the country’s development and stressed that the government will provide full support and facilitate the diaspora at every moment.

The Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to resolving their concerns and strengthening their involvement in Pakistan’s development agenda.
