Algiers, 1st September 2021 (TDI): The final statement has been issued regarding the consultative ministerial meeting of the neighboring countries of Libya.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Ramtane Lamamra, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Algeria, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Libya Mrs. Naglaa Al-Manqoush, Foreign Minister of Egypt Mr. Sameh Shoukry, Foreign Minister of Niger Mr. Hassoumi Masoudou along with few others. The ministers criticized and discussed ways in which the neighboring countries can join hands and support each other under the United Nations framework to create security and stability for all neighboring countries. The Ministers renewed their categorical rejection of any kind of interference in Libyan internal affairs. They also emphasized coordination and integration between the work of the United Nations, the African Union, the League of the Arab States, and the European Union that will work with the neighboring countries. It was stressed that a quadripartite agreement must be activated between Libya and the neighboring countries to secure borders. However, further meetings have been scheduled in which discussions will take place.
It has been discussed that Egypt will be hosting the next meeting of the foreign ministers.
