Lusail, 25 November 2022 (TDI): Brazil won against Serbia in its first match of the FIFA World Cup 2022 that took place on 24 November in Lusail stadium. This was Thursday’s fourth match and second fixture of group G.

The other two teams in Group G are Cameron and Switzerland. According to the ranking of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), Brazil ranks 1st, and Serbia ranks 21st.

Brazil won the match 2-0 against Serbia. Brazil has won the FIFA World Cup five times previously and this year started its challenge with a win against the opposition.

The opening match for Brazil took place in Lusail stadium, which is the biggest stadium in Qatar and one of the eight stadiums that are converted for FIFA World Cup 2022. The stadium has a capacity of 86,000 people.

The match took place on 24 November, started off with efforts from both sides, and ended in a 2-0 victory for team Brazil. The first half of the game displayed the tough competition by both sides.

No team was able to score even though Brazil dominated the possession of the ball for much of the time in the first half. The tempo of the game increased in the second half.

The Brazilian team increased its momentum and went on to score a goal. The Brazilian team exploded into relentless attack in the second half of the match.

Both the goals were scored by Richarlison, who played as a forward in the team.
He scored the first goal against Serbia in the 62nd minute. The second goal was scored by him in the 73rd minute of the game.

The goal was a stunning overhead scissor kick by Richarlison, that gave Brazil a 2-0 win. This acrobatic is highlighted as the goal of the World Cup so far. This way Brazil dominated the match and solidified its victory in its first fixture.
