Tehran (TDI): Blasts were heard near the Pakistani Embassy and the ambassador’s residence in Tehran, as the Iranian capital continues to face ongoing aerial strikes.

Officials confirmed that all Pakistani diplomats are safe, though the loud explosions left them shaken, according to Geo News.

The incident comes at a time when Pakistan, along with Turkiye and Egypt, is actively engaged in diplomatic efforts to help bring about a ceasefire between the United States and Iran.

The explosions took place around 8pm on Thursday in Tehran’s Pasdaran district, close to both the embassy and the ambassador’s residence. An Iranian military installation located opposite the embassy is believed to have been the intended target.

A senior diplomat said that while the blasts were powerful, no damage was caused to the embassy building or staff residences, the report added.

“The explosions were loud, but our windows remained intact,” he noted, adding that the situation has left personnel concerned due to the volatile environment.

Despite the risks, Pakistani diplomatic staff continue to perform their duties. Authorities are closely monitoring developments, and so far, no casualties or material damage have been reported.

The broader conflict began on February 28 following US and Israeli strikes on Iran, which resulted in significant casualties and widened tensions across the Middle East, also impacting the global economy through rising energy prices.
