EU Warns Israel Over Killings of Starving Palestinians

Brussels (TDI): EU’s foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, issued a warning, on Tuesday, to Israeli occupation over a worsening starvation crisis in Gaza where over 100 Palestinians have died from starvation only.

This warning came in the backdrop of Trump’s special envoy’s visit to Europe for talks on a ceasefire in Gaza this week.

Kallas, in a post on X, noted that all the options remain on the table if Israel does not deliver on its pledges to increase humanitarian aid into Gaza. She also highlighted that Israel’s killing of civilians, in a besieged enclave, seeking aid was indefensible.

The US, meanwhile, confirmed that Steve Witkoff, Trump’s special envoy, will visit a European country this week for discussions aimed at reaching a Gaza truce and finalizing a humanitarian corridor into the territory.

He also plans to continue to the Middle East to pursue further truce negotiations and discussions on aid delivery.

Moreover, a US news outlet Axios reported that Witkoff will be traveling to the Italian city of Rome on Wednesday and there he will meet with Israel Occupation’s Minister of Strategic Affairs and a senior Qatari envoy on Thursday.

The Occupation cut off all goods from entering the besieged enclave in March, but has allowed in a limited flow of humanitarian aid starting in May, mostly distributed through the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), bypassing the UN.

The GHF has since set up four major distribution points in the south and center of Gaza. According to the UN, Israeli occupation forces have killed more than 1000 Palestinians seeking food aid since the group since late May and most of the victims were killed near the GHF sites.
