15 June 2021 (TDI): Today the Embassy of Belgium in Islamabad hosted a breakfast meeting on Pak-Afghan relations. EU ambassadors and journalists were invited for a meeting with the Director of TOLO news Lotfullah Najafizada. Belgium Diplomat Sylvain Vanrie, France diplomat, and Canadian High Commissioner Wendy Gilmour were present on the occasion. Ambassadors of Switzerland, Denmark, and Portugal also attended the meeting.
The Director Lotfullah Najafizada thanked the Belgium Embassy for hosting the meeting. He discussed the situation of Afghanistan and the role of Pakistan with the Ambassadors and journalists based in Islamabad.
The official statement of the Belgium Embassy states that they all had a discussion on the current situation in Afghanistan, the Peace Process, and the post-withdrawal situation. They also mentioned that the role of the regional and international community is very important for Afghanistan. He further added that TOLO news and the Afghan press are playing a key role in it. The Swiss Ambassador Benedict de Cerjat also took to Twitter and thanked the Belgium Embassy for hosting the meeting with the Director of TOLO news.
