Etihad Airways Resumes Flights to Peshawar After 10 Years

Peshawar (TDI): Etihad Airways has resumed its flight operations to Peshawar after a decade, with the arrival of flight EY 276 from Abu Dhabi at Bacha Khan International Airport on Monday, the Pakistan Aviation Authority (PAA) said.

The aircraft was accorded a traditional water cannon salute upon landing, marking the airline’s first service to the city since 2014.

According to PAA, Etihad will now operate five weekly flights between Abu Dhabi and Peshawar on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, departing from Peshawar as EY 277 at 8am.

“These new connections provide passengers with greater choice, improved convenience, and enhanced global connectivity, reflecting PAA’s commitment to ensuring safe, efficient, and world-class airport operations,” the authority said in a statement.

Etihad becomes the third international airline to launch operations to Peshawar in 2025.

In August, Saudi low-cost carrier Flyadeal expanded to Pakistan with flights from Riyadh, while in May, Flydubai commenced services from Dubai, both inaugurals celebrated with water salutes at Bacha Khan International Airport.
