Egypt and Pakistan discussed military cooperation

June 14, 2021 (TDI):   Pakistan’s Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Nadeem Raza accompanied by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Egypt Sajid Bilal met President of Egypt in Cairo. Muhammad Zaki, Egypt’s Minister of Defense and Military Production was also present.

The talks focused on promoting bilateral cooperation among the two states especially in fields of enhanced military and security cooperation.

During the talks, the President of Egypt expressed his desire of enhancing mutual ties with Pakistan and work more closely with Pakistan especially in areas of security and counter-terrorism activities. He also emphasized the significance of working together to spread good religious’ principles, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.

General Raza explained Pakistan’s desire to expand cooperation with Egypt and also highlighted Egypt’s internal stability leading to the stability of the middle eastern region as well as the Islamic world.

This is a significant development between the two states especially in the fields of military and security cooperation since last the visit of Shah Mahmood Qureshi to Egypt in  February, earlier this year. Both Egyptian and Pakistani Air forces held their first joint military exercises Sky guardians 1 in Egypt.
