Ebrahim Raisi is next the Iranian President

Islamabad: June 19, 2021- (TDI): Ebrahim Raisi won the 13th Presidental elections held yesterday. According to the official sources. Out of the total 28.6 million votes, Raisi won 17.8 million votes, whereas Mohsen Rezaei received 3.3 million votes whereas Abdolnasser Hemmati got only 2.4 million votes and Amir Hossein Ghazizadeh received only 1 million votes. Overall the elections remained peaceful and there was not a single incident of violence was reported. There were 3 other candidates in the race who were Abdolnasser Hemmati, Mohsen Rezaei, and Amir Hossein Ghazizadeh Hashemi.  The ex-president of Iran Hassan Rouhani has congratulated the new President Raisi.

There was a comparative low voter turnout seen on Friday, June 18. Although the voting time was increased for two hours, and the voting process continued till midnight, but the voter turnout seemed to below. This is one of the lowest voter turnouts seen in the history of Iran since 1979.
