Karachi, (TDI): With the opening of the Honorary Ethiopia’s Consulate in Karachi, Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula, Ethiopia’s Special Envoy and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Pakistan, will further cement the two nations’ already strong bilateral ties.
In an interview with the media, the ambassador congratulated Ibrahim Tawab, the Honorary Consul of Ethiopia in Karachi, on his appointment and the Consulate’s opening.
The Ambassador noted that Karachi is both Pakistan’s commercial and cultural center and that the opening of the Ethiopia’s Consulate would significantly increase bilateral trade as well as people-to-people exchanges between the two nations.

According to him, the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia’s Embassy in Pakistan has made a significant contribution to forging connections between Pakistan and Africa through its crucial position in the Look Africa and Engage Africa Policy.
He said that the Government of the FDR Ethiopia inaugurated the Honorary Consulate in Karachi this year, having previously created its Mission in Islamabad in 2022 and bringing Ethiopian Airlines in 2023.
Ibrahim Tawab celebrated the event by highlighting Ethiopia’s exceptional trade, economic, and investment potential.
