Washington: July 24, 2021- (TDI): Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani met with the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Washington on Friday.
Al Thani took to Twitter and shared the meeting details. The matters under discussion during this meeting were related to bilateral cooperation and the regional developments in the areas of Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, and Palestine. The meeting also reviewed the strategic partnership between both the countries and shared commitment for promoting peace and security.
According to the minister of foreign affairs of Qatar, to reach a political solution is through dialogue and negotiations by involving all Afghan leaders in a comprehensive meeting. He also expressed his state’s optimistic view regarding the Afghan parties to reach a final resolution and achieve security and stability in Afghanistan. The State of Qatar and the International community want to see Afghanistan as a stable and prosperous country. The minister of foreign affairs also stressed the open dialogue between GCC states and Iran for creating stability in the region.
