ISLAMABAD (TDI): Denmark Ambassador to Pakistan Jackob Linulf, called on Federal Minister for Kashmir affairs and Gilgit Baltistan, Engineer Amir Muqam.
During the meeting, they discussed multiple range of issues, including the welfare of Afghan refugees and opportunities to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting also included the UNHCR Representative in Pakistan, Philippa Candler, as well as Secretary of Safron, Zafar Hassan, and Joint Secretary, Agha Wasim Ahmed.
Both sides agreed on the importance of enhancing high-level contacts and exploring new avenues for cooperation. They discussed the potential for joint programs in education, health, and professional training for Afghan refugees.
Engineer Amir Muqam commended Denmark’s cooperation in addressing the Afghan refugee crisis and highlighted the shared responsibilities of both nations in managing the challenges.
He also emphasized Pakistan’s efforts in hosting millions of Afghan refugees and noted the financial difficulties faced in providing facilities to them.

Ambassador Linulf appreciated Pakistan’s role in hosting Afghan refugees and lauded the extension of the Proof of Registration (POR) cards for Afghan refugees in Pakistan.
He acknowledged Pakistan’s humanitarian efforts and the support it has extended to Afghan refugees, recognizing the excellent role played by Pakistan in managing this issue despite limited international attention.

Both sides expressed hope that continued cooperation would help improve the situation for Afghan refugees and explore sustainable solutions to these ongoing challenges.
