Dar, Spanish Senator Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

Islamabad (TDI): Spanish Senator Vicente Azpitarte Pérez on Thursday called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and exchanged views on matters of mutual interest.

The two sides discussed ways to strengthen parliamentary exchanges and expand cooperation between Pakistan and Spain in political, economic, and cultural spheres.

Deputy Prime Minister Dar lauded Senator Pérez for his efforts to promote closer parliamentary linkages between the two countries.

Senator Pérez, in turn, extended an invitation to the Deputy Prime Minister to visit Spain.

The meeting was viewed as part of Pakistan’s broader outreach to European partners, aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation and enhancing dialogue between legislatures.

Both sides agreed that parliamentary diplomacy could complement traditional foreign policy by fostering people-to-people contacts, boosting trade opportunities, and supporting cultural exchanges.

It was further underscored that enhanced engagement between Pakistan and Spain would not only benefit the two countries but also contribute to strengthening Pakistan’s ties with the European Union as a whole.
