Islamabad (TDI): Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar has departed for Cairo, Egypt, to attend the 11th D-8 Summit of developing nations, scheduled for December 19, 2024.
Before the summit, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will participate in the 21st D-8 Council of Ministers meeting on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
Dar will also attend a conference on Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Baku, via video link from Cairo.
The statement added that during his stay in Cairo, Dar is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with counterparts from other countries.

The D-8 Summit, also known as the Developing-8, is a global organization for development cooperation among 8 nations including, Pakistan, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, and Turkiye.
The group aims to increase cooperation in different sectors including technology, trade, investment, and culture.

It was established in 1997 with the aim of promoting socio-economic development and improving the life-standard in the member countries through mutual cooperation.
