Vienna, 9 September 2021 (TDI): On Wednesday, Cuba’s delegation to the Fifth World Conference of Parliament Speakers met with international legislators in Vienna, Austria. Several important issues were debated by the legislators, given the bilateral meetings held between international delegates.
The Cuban delegation is headed by Ana María Mari Machado, who happens to be the Vice President of the National Assembly of People’s Power. The representatives of the Cuban National Assembly convened with several international legislators, namely Reinhold Lopatka, from Austria; Parlatino’s President, Senator Jorge Pizarro; Elham Azad, from Iran; Diego Paulsen from Chile; and legislators from Guinea-Bissau and Angola, respectively.
The two-day conference is being organized by the Austrian Parliament and Inter-Parliamentary Union, in close association with the United Nations. The event will be followed by the First Global Parliamentary Meeting on ‘Counter-Terrorism’ on 9th September 2021.
