Cuban Athletes bag 2 Gold Medals in Paralympics

Tokyo, 1 September 2021 (TDI): On Tuesday, Cuban athletes Robiel Yankiel Sol Cervantes and Omara Durand won gold medals for Cuba in the Tokyo 2021 Summer Paralympics.

Robiel Yankiel Sol Cervantes won gold in Men’s Long Jump T47 and Omara Durand received a gold medal in Women’s 400m T12.  Prime Minister of Republic of Cuba Manuel Marrero Cruz and the President of Republic of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel congratulated the Paralympic champions for winning gold medals for Cuba. Earlier in the games, Leinier Savon Pineda won a silver medal and Leonardo Diaz Aldana won a Bronze medal for Cuba.

Cuba sent 16 athletes to the Paralympic games which will continue till 5 September.
