BEIJING, (TDI): Pakistan’s Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal has hailed the deep-rooted China-Pakistan partnership as an “Iron Brother” bond, highlighting the significant role of technological innovation in the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
During a press conference in Beijing, Iqbal emphasized China’s remarkable progress in economic innovation and emerging technologies.
He stated that the second phase of CPEC would not only provide vital support to Pakistan but also foster collaboration in high-tech sectors, enabling Pakistan to benefit from China’s cutting-edge research and innovation.
The minister underscored the transformative impact that advanced technologies could have on Pakistan’s agricultural sector, driving higher productivity, exports, and industrial competitiveness.

He pointed out that Pakistan’s young, IT-savvy workforce provides a unique opportunity for both nations to work together in building a robust digital technology platform.
Iqbal, currently on an official visit to China, addressed a range of issues, including technological advancements, energy cooperation, environmental challenges, and trade relations between the two countries.
He reaffirmed the strong, unwavering bond between the people of Pakistan and China, emphasising that efforts to undermine the CPEC initiative through terrorism would ultimately fail.

“Pakistan has committed over 12,000 full-time army personnel to protect Chinese projects, while our counterterrorism and police forces are fully dedicated to ensuring the safety of Chinese workers,” Iqbal said. “We consider Chinese workers in Pakistan as national guests, integral to our development.”
The comments come as both nations continue to deepen their economic ties through the ambitious CPEC initiative, which aims to enhance infrastructure, trade, and technological collaboration between China and Pakistan.
